Jakob Jantscher’s goal for the hosts in the early stage proved in vain as Bangkok United fired back twice to condemn Kitchee in the AFC Champions League group match on October 25 at Hong Kong Stadium.

A defensive error from the visitors in the 7th minute saw the stadium erupted with cheers when Jantshcer scored an opened goal in the box courtesy of Fernando’s assist.

Mikael, Tan Chun Lok, and Ruslan Mingazov had multiple chances to extend the scoring for the hosts but squandered all the opportunities before Bangkok United leveled moments before the break.

The game went from bad to worse as the visitors went in front from the spot just 7 minutes into the second half after Fernando was judged to have committed a handball inside the penalty area.

Mingazov, Charlie Scott, and substitutes Igor Satori and Poon Pui Hin all then went close to equalizing the home side, but it wasn’t enough for the hosts to take a point home, falling 2-1 to Bangkok United which they were downed to 10 men in the closing minutes of the game.
