Tan Chun Lok’s header in dying minutes of the game secured Kitchee a dramatic 4-3 win over Tai Po to reach the JC Sapling Cup final at Mong Kok Stadium on Wednesday (April 3).
Tai Po had led 1-0 before Kitchee roared back and took a 2-1 lead after Cheng Chin Lung converting and Mikael’s penalty. Tai Po equalized shortly before the break.
Kitchee retook the lead after half time when Jakob Jantscher’s pass from the left found Junior to slot it home to 3-2. Tai Po fought back and leveled it once more in the 84th minute. From there, the game looked to be headed to extra time, but Tan stepped up and headed home in the 98th minute to seal a dramatic win and moved into the final in fine style.
