Kitchee Women’s Team has confirmed 4 signings this summer with Claire Chu, Mika Simons, So Po Yu and Wong Tsz Ying all wearing the blue jerseys in the 2024/25 season.
Full-back Claire Chu, who spent last year with HKFC, will be given the no. 4 shirt. “Claire is a standout one-on-one and dynamic defender who can play both sides. Her experience and versatility will make her an excellent addition to the squad.” Kitchee Women’s Team Head Coach Andy Cheung said.
Kitchee have also secured a deal to bring Mika Simons, who guided Kitchee Women’s Team to seal the 2018/19 FA Cup title, to hold up a Kitchee shirt for the second time. The versatile midfielder will wear the number 12 kit for Kitchee in the new season.
Another new signing is no. 19 striker So Po Yu. So, who scored 11 goals at Women’s Football League (2nd Division) champions Tuen Mun during the 2023/24 season, is characterized by her speed, agility, and clinical finishing. “Her style of play will add a layer of unpredictability to Kitchee’s attack.” Head Coach Andy Cheung said.
The fourth signing to be added to the first-team roster is Wong Tsz Ying. Wong is a winger who last played for 3rd Division team Harmony Eagle, where she scored 11 goals in the previous season. “Wong is a young and strong player, and her ability will significantly bolster our attack.” Head Coach Andy Cheung talked about the new no. 20.
3 new signings such as Claire Chu, Mika Simons, and So Po Yu have been named in the squad for the champions league in Bhutan. The traveling squad for the champions league will be announced shortly.
