A 2-0 lost to Bam Khatoon FC resulted in Kitchee being eliminated from AWCL on Saturday (August 31).

A win against the Islamic Republic of Iran side, which topped of the table on goal difference, ensured Kitchee to progress to the next stage.

Head Coach Andy Cheung named an unchanged side for Kitchee to play against the group stage leaders. Kitchee tried to hit Bam Khatoon FC on the counter attack in the first half but missed a great chance to break the deadlock when Wong Ka Sze found Chu So Kwan, who continued to play as a left winger, whose attempt just inches away from the goal. Bam Khatoon FC then opened the scoring through a free-kick moments before half time.

Cheung added firepower at half time to look for an equalizer, but a second half goal from the Iranian in the 65th minute saw Kitchee crashed out of the AWCL Preliminary Stage.
