Luís Machado scored in the second half as Kitchee rallied for a 1-1 draw with KC Southern at Aberdeen Sports Ground on Saturday (January 11).

Kitchee almost grabbed the lead in the 8th minute. Lam Jordan Lok Kan’s cross from the left found Welthon and his header hit the crossbar. KC Southern then took the lead in the 19th minute when Jackson de Sousa took a pass from Mahama Awal and scored. Kitchee looked for the equalizer but attempts from Welthon, Chen Ngo Hin, Bae Jae-woo, and Machado were either went off the target or saved by Ng Wai Him.

Kitchee pulled even after the break when Law Tsz Chun, who came on from the bench, charged down the pitch to setup Machado’s equalizer in the 55th minute. Kitchee dominated the entire half after the goal, including Welthon’s penalty miss in the dying embers, but failed to find the winner to seal the win.
