The derby saw Kitchee shared the points with Eastern with a 1-1 draw in the Premier League at Mong Kok Stadium on Saturday (January 18).

Kitchee took the lead after just 16th minutes when Ruslan Mingazov’s cross from the left found Luís Machado to hit the ball to the top corner of the goal. The Turkmen winger came off injured moments later of the derby. Eastern found the equalizer in the 32nd minute when Noah Baffoe scored from the spot before half time.

Kitchee tried to regain the lead in the second half but Eastern goalkeeper Yapp Hung Fai coming up big on several occasions to keep the visitors from scoring, notably he stretched out to the fullest extent to the shot from Ngan Cheuk Pan’s header.
