Kitchee came from a goal down to beat HKFC 3-1 in the Premier League at Hong Kong Football Club Stadium on Sunday (February 16).
Kitchee dominated HKFC in the first half, but they struggled to open the scoring. HKFC broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute when Callum Beattie unleashed a long-distanced strike to give the hosts the lead. Kitchee responded immediately and leveled the scoring before the break. Fernando’s right-footed strike found the top left corner that beat Freddie Toomer.
Kitchee took the early lead in the second half as Callum Beattie scored an own goal from Fernando’s cross. HKFC could have leveled when they were awarded a penalty, but Fynn Talley sent the away crowd into raptures after saving Daniel Scally’s effort from the spot. Sherzod Temirov scored the third goal setup by Júnior in the stoppage time to secure the victory for Edgar Cardoso’s side.
