Garcia Takes Troops to Korea for Intensive Practic

Kitchee will embark on a short trip to Korea on Monday afternoon for an intensive five-day, three-match training camp. The reigning treble winner is scheduled to face Korean sides Hwaseong FC, Goyang Hi FC and Seoul E-Land FC during their stay and head coach Abraham Garcia is hoping to use the practice matches to further sharpen up his team for the new season. Garcia indicates he is happy with how the team has trained ever since his arrival and is looking forward to see his side coming up against quality opponents in Korea. “The team is in good shape and looks quite fit at the moment. We had some high intensity practices as well as an intra-squad scrimmage over the weekend. The players have responded well and we are ready to move on to the next level in our training,” Garcia commented. The Spanish tactician also offers a glimpse of what he plans to do with his troops during the team’s stay in Korea. “We have 29 players in our squad and I will need to see them more in match situations. At the moment, I am not 100% sure on how I plan to utilize the players during the Korea trip. However, this will certainly be a good opportunity for us to try the different line-ups and combinations that we might use in the upcoming AFC quarter-final, as well as domestic competitions. One thing that is for sure, I know I have a lot of different options on my hands with such a quality squad.”
