Brazilian Reinforcement All Set for Debut Season w

Brazilian Fernando Pedreira turned heads with his magnificent play on the pitch for YFCMD last season, even causing headaches for Kitchee on numerous occasions with his sublime performances on the pitch. Therefore it was no surprise that Kitchee became interested in the service of the talented schemer, which eventually led to his summer move to the treble winner. The all-action Brazilian showcased his wide range of talents last campaign in YFCMD colors by recording eight assists throughout the season, just behind Kitchee’s very own Paulo Carreiro. At the same time, the midfielder also displayed a knack for finding the back of the net, as he tallied six goals by the season’s end. Despite joining Kitchee only in the summer, the high-skilled Pedreira already feels very comfortable in his new surrounding and holds an optimistic view on the club’s prospects for the upcoming season. “Kitchee is the best team in Hong Kong and the training facility is top-notch, very close to the standards of professional clubs back in Brazil,” said the Brazilian midfielder. “I see a lot of former Citizen teammates over here and we communicate everyday through English, Portuguese or any other way. Working under such a great atmosphere is a wonderful thing and I have full confidence that we can achieve even better results in the new season!” Seeking meaningful playing time in a well-stacked Kitchee side might prove to be a challenge but the likeable Pedreira also expresses his readiness to work hard and compete with his teammates. “I know there is a limitation on the foreign players quota, hence there will be a tough battle amongst us foreign players,” explained the well-spoken player. “I have the outmost respect for all my teammates including Juan Belencoso and Jorge Tarres, as they are all very good players. But that will not stop me from competing for playing time in every game, and that includes future AFC Cup matches. You can never predict what might happen in the football world and that is why I will never give up on the football pitch.”
