The first goal came in the 26th minute as Ruslan Mingazov's cross forced a defensive error, where Damjanović was the first to react with a close-range finish to open the scoreline. He would double the lead for Kitchee in the 57th minute when Mikael's cross led to another poor clearance. The ball fell to Damjanović again before he calmly sent the ball into the net, ensuring a 2:0 result.
