Kitchee suffered a 0:1 defeat against BC Rangers at the JC Sapling Cup Group B match held at Mongkok Stadium on 15 Mar (Wed).
Kam Chi Kin Jason, Sohgo Ichikawa, and Yuen Chun Him started the match as the U22 players, with captain Huang Yang making his 300th appearance for Kitchee. Law Tsz Chun featured for the 100th time, the first Academy graduate to achieve this milestone. However, the team would concede first from a counterattack in the 36th minute, leaving the team trailing at half time.
Cleiton and Dejan Damjanović came off the bench in the second half as Kitchee strived to find the equaliser, but the team would finish the match 0:1. The goalless defeat was the first time Kitchee failed to score in a domestic match this season.
