The steadily improving Kitchee will try to continue its climb in the BOCG Life Hong Kong Premier League table this Sunday by visiting Dreams Metro Gallery at Sham Shui Po Sports Ground. The match will kick-off at 2:30pm. Kitchee currently occupies the fourth position in the league table with two wins and one draw from its first three premier league games. The reigning premier league champion has stayed undefeated over its past six games in all competitions, winning four of those matches while tying the other two. The team seems to be firing on all cylinders recently with ten goals netted over the past three games and will try its outmost to build on the current three-game winning streak while facing Dreams Metro Gallery on Sunday afternoon. Regular Kitchee keeper Wang Zhenpeng was sent off in the previous game, meaning Guo Jianqiao might have another chance to start between the sticks this weekend against Dreams Metro Gallery. The Kitchee custodian indicates he is very much ready for the weekend battle. “I have been with Kitchee all these years and have always stayed ready, week-in and week-out. I am just going to stick to my usual routines and there will not be much difference on my preparation,” said the twenty-nine year-old. “Dreams Metro Gallery started the season brightly and picked up a few victories along the way. We need to pay attention to their forwards who can be very dangerous and try to nullify their threats during the match.” Veteran striker Jorge Tarres, who has been enjoying a resurgence this early-season by snatching four goals in all competitions, believes Kitchee’s form is on the rise and has what it takes to claim another victory. “We have been performing quite well recently and it is a testament to our preseason work. It took us a while to understand and to adapt to the tactics of the new coach and we are finally getting there,” explained the Kitchee talisman. “At the same time, we need to stay highly focused during the game, avoid being over-confident and making mistakes. After all, there is still a long way to go in the premier league title chase.”
