Despite falling behind early in the away game under chilly conditions, sizzling-hot Kitchee continued to steamroll opponents, as the Blues stormed back all the way to defeat Lee Man 1:5, courtesy to a sensational hat-trick by star striker Diego Forlan, as well as goals from Krisztian Vadocz and Lucas Da Silva. With the newly picked up three points safely in bag, Kitchee continues to soar high in the premier league table. Kitchee fell behind early in the game, when Lee Man’s Stefan Pereira connected with a teammate’s centering pass and fired the ball home with ease, putting the home side in front. It took Kitchee less than twenty minutes to draw level though, as Diego Forlan showcased his sublime free-kick ability by curling a spectacular strike to the back of the net, tying the game at 1:1. Afterwards, Kristztian Vadocz nicked the ball off a Lee Man player and powered his way into the box, before finishing off with a clinical shot, pulling Kitchee in front. Right before the half time whistle, Forlan was at it again, as the Uruguayan superstar unleashed yet another majestic free-kick that hit the back of the net with authority. Kitchee was up 1:3 at half time. After the interval, Kitchee continued to pounce against Lee Man, as Forlan picked up the ball from Lam Zhi Gin and fired it home, completing his hat-trick in less than an hour. Lucas Da Silva also joined in the goal feast with a well-taken goal later in the game. While Lee Man tried its outmost to score the next goal, Kitchee managed to withstand the pressure and came out on top in the 1:5 victory. Li Ngai-hoi, who started the game and played nearly an hour, acknowledges he is still trying to regain his form after returning to Kitchee from his loan spell. “I have been away from the Club for an extended period of time, therefore I still need some time to adapt to the team’s playing style, as well as searching for my own form. Hopefully, I can get these things done in time, as I really want to contribute to the team in its upcoming AFC Champions League challenge,” Li expressed. Midfielder Krisztian Vadcoz claims the Blues are rounding into form at just the right moment and hopes his side can do well in the fast-approaching AFC Champions League. “After the recent domestic games, we can finally shift our attention towards the upcoming AFC Champions League,” offered the Hungarian midfielder. “It is true that we have been doing quite well domestically but the AFC Champions League is a much tougher challenge, hence we must keep our shape on the pitch, try to stay compact and hopefully, get some points out of the AFC Champions League group stage.”
