Kitchee wrapped up the AFC Champions League with a 2-0 win over Lion City Sailors in Singapore on Wednesday (December 13).

Kitchee started fast in the game as Igor Satori’s cross found Fernando, but his shot was blocked, and it was just 4 minutes into the game. Tan Chun Lok also had a chance moments later, but his attempt also denied by the goalkeeper. Kitchee finally broke the deadlock in the 11st minute with an own goal from Sailors after a great combination between Charlie Scott, Tan Chun Lok, Fernando, and Igor Satori forced Sailors’ defender to score in his own net.

Sailors enjoyed most of the possession in the second half, but Kitchee’s rock-solid defense kept Sailors at bay. Kitchee pushed on and looked for a two-goal cushion, but Fernando’s effort went just wide. The left winger, who looked lively this game, scored the second goal in the 74th minute when he produced a stunning solo down the left, skipping his way past Sailors’ players and finishing it with a fine cornered goal – his first ACL goal of this campaign to extend the lead for Kitchee. Jakob Jantscher, who scored in the past 4 group matches, almost added his 5th of the season closer to the end of the game, but Kitchee still managed to wrap up their AFC journey with a 2-0 victory against Lion City Sailors.
