Yu Ching Kok and Rhys Owainโs goals failed to prevent Kitchee U16 from suffering a 4-2 defeat by BC Rangers in the Premier Youth League at Tsing Yi Northeast Park on Friday (November 15), while Yu Ching Wai scored in the dying minutes in a wild 4-3 win over BC Rangers U18.
It only took 3 minutes for U16 to score the equalizer following the breakthrough goal by BC Rangers in the 20th minute. Ma Lok Sephrey sent a fine cross from the left for Yu to tab in. Owain scored a sensational free-kick that found the top corner 9 minutes later to hand his side the lead. BC Rangersโs comeback was initiated after the break when they scored 3 second half goals to seal the win in the final matchday of the Championship Group first stage.
Meanwhile, U18 created a number of chances as they dominated possession throughout the opening first half against BC Rangers, but they couldnโt find the goal and saw themselves behind after 29 minutes. Kitchee found their equalizer just 4 minutes later when Cheung Yiu Hin finished calmly in the box to even the match before the break.
Cheung bagged a brace just moments in the second half to make it 2-1. However, BC Rangers scored back-to-back goals in consecutives minutes to regain the lead. Tse Hin Tao brought Kitchee back in the game when he scored an incredible long-range goal in the 75th minute before Yu proved to be the hero for U18, delivering the winner in the stoppage time to clinch a 4-3 victory.
