Kitchee faced HKU23 at the Mong Kok Stadium on Sunday (12 Feb) and emerged victorious with Dejan Damjanović and Igor Sartori each earned a brace.
The first goal came in the 27th minute with Fernando receiving Igor Sartori's cross and finished near the penalty spot. Mikael won a penalty for Kitchee which Damjanović converted in the 31st minute to double the lead. Damjanović scored again 2 minutes later after picking up a cross from Cleiton to give the team a 3:0 lead before half time.
The team pushed on in the second half as Fernando’s cross found Mikael, who headed it home in the 55th minute. A through pass from Cleition in the 61st minute found Igor Sartori who scored with a clipped shot. He doubled his tally in the 76th minute after moving past 2 opponents on the left. Ruslan Mingazov scored from the spot in the 88th minute, before Ngan Cheuk Pan intercepted the ball, played a 1-2 with Sohgo Ichikawa, and found the net to wrap up a 8:0 victory.
