A 4:0 victory against HK U23 at the Aberdeen Sports Ground on 4 Match (Sat) let Kitchee back to winning way at HKJC Sapling Cup as Andy Russell scored his first goal since joining the team in February.

Kitchee opened the scoreline in the 27th minute, Russell’s long pass found Ruslan Mingazov, the latter took down the ball, rounded the HK U23 goalkeeper and sent the ball into the empty net. In the 43th minute, Kim Shin-wook’s header hit the post, Russell picked up the rebound and doubled the lead before half time. Kitchee continued their sharp form during the second half as Mingazov’s corner-kick found Bekzhan Sagynbaev, the Kyrgyz international’s header gave Kitchee a 3:0 lead. 2 minutes later, Mingazov’s volley found the net, to wrap up the 4:0 victory.
