Kitchee will seek redemption against Kuwait SC on Wednesday evening when the two sides meet up in the second leg of the AFC Cup 2015 quarter-final. The match is set to take place in Mongkok Stadium and will go underway at 8:00pm. Kitchee will enter the game with a healthy dosage of confidence, after toppling Yuen Long 4:0 on the weekend to open the new Hong Kong premier league season. However, things will be slightly different returning to the AFC Cup circuit, as the local treble winner will face top-notch quality in the shape of Kuwait SC, who humbled Kitchee 6:0 in the first leg of the quarter-final last month. Midfield maestro Lam Ka-wai talks about the importance of putting the score-line of the first leg defeat behind him and focusing on the task on hand. “There is no denying that the 6:0 deficit will be very tough to overcome. However, this is also a rare chance for us to come across such high quality opponent and we will cherish the opportunity to go out and compete,” Lam said. Young gun Ngan Lok-fung echoes the view of Lam and is determined to make the most of the second leg on Wednesday evening. “Realistically, it is almost impossible to overcome the 6:0 deficit from the first leg but we will not give up and instead, try our best to net as many goals as possible,” said the Kitchee midfielder. “We really want to show the fans that the score-line of the first leg is not a true reflection of the difference between the two sides and we will try our outmost to prove that on Wednesday night.”
