With the match schedule coming thick and fast, the extremely busy Kitchee will head to Yuen Long on Saturday afternoon and take on the New Territories side for another round of fixtures in the BOCG Life Hong Kong Premier League. The match will take place in Yuen Long Stadium and kick-off time will be 2:30pm. This will be Kitchee’s third match in seven days, a tall task for the side to handle in terms of fitness and recovery. Kitchee will also need to travel to Singapore afterwards for an AFC Cup group battle against Singaporean side Balestier Khalsa on next Tuesday, hence certain adjustments on this weekend’s starting lineup can certainly be expected. Having said all that, Kitchee is riding on a three-game winning streak at the moment and it will be interesting to see whether the blue army can take down Yuen Long this weekend and snatch all three points before departing for Singapore. Centre-back Kim Taemin talks about the importance of securing the opening goal against Yuen Long on Saturday, and securing it fast. "Every domestic team that we face this season seems to have defending as its main priority, putting heavy personnel at the backline. I do not think Yuen Long will be any different. If we can open the score early on Saturday, then I will feel quite confident about our chances of winning. However, if we fail to do so, it will likely turn into a bitter struggle,” Kim analyzed. Dynamic attacking player Fernando Pedreira maintains while Yuen Long might lie in the bottom half of the premier league table, the New Territories side should not be underestimated by anyone from Kitchee. “Yuen Long might not be the most talented side in the premier league but their fighting spirit is second to none. Often times, their sheer will can help them put up a great fight against the so-called bigger teams,” the Brazilian pointed out. “Yuen Long has also added a few new players in the second half, making them all the more formidable. We definitely need to sit up and take notice.”
