The 1:2 HK Premier League loss on 29 October (Sat) at the Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground marked the first defeat of the team this season.

Kitchee’s attempts to take control of the match were thwarted by a strong defensive display from Lee Man, who capitalised from a counterattack in the 18th minute by Everton’s strike. Diego Eli doubled the lead for the home team before half time in the 44th minute.

The second half saw Kitchee pushing aggressively for a goal, which was delivered by Hélio in the 75th minute via a header. 3 minutes later, Cleiton’s long pass found Ruslan Mingazov, who was unfairly brought down by Tsui Wang Kit, leading to Tsui’s early dismissal. Neither side were able to score in the remaining minutes as the match ended in a 1:2 defeat.
