Kitchee resumed league action at the Tsing Yi Sports Ground on 28 Jan (Sat) as they turned up for a 5:0 away victory against RCFC.
Kitchee enjoyed a great start on their first match after the Senior Shield success as they forced a defensive error which led to an own goal within the first 30 seconds of the match. Fernando's corner in the 10th minute found Dejan Damjanović, who doubled the lead with a header. The Montenegrin striker earned his brace 2 minutes later from Law Tsz Chun's assist, giving Kitchee a 3:0 lead after 12 minutes. Ngan Cheuk Pan's pressing in the 34th minute helped him win the ball and score in front of an empty net, building a 4:0 lead before half time.
Kitchee continued pressing on after restart, and after many attempts Ruslan Mingazov forced another defensive error from a clearance which led to an own goal in the 69th minute. Kitchee finished the match 5:0 against RCFC and claimed all 3 points.
